Yesterday I went back to the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge. Several of the interesting birds that I saw were Black Skimmers. They were like fishermen so focused on their tasks that they did not care about anything else, including people with cameras pointed at them. I took many shots of them skimming the marshes with the lower mandible of their beaks cutting straight lines in the water. Here’s one of a Black Skimmer which had just launched off from the shoreline.
