About a couple of blocks northwest of Notre-Dame, we found a flower market (Marché aux Fleurs) which proved to be an oasis of plants, flowers, and colors in the middle of Paris with its creamy-yellow buildings. We went there one morning as the shop owners were setting out their displays and arrangements.
Not very many tourists came to the flower market that morning. Most were at Notre-Dame or queuing up to visit the Sainte-Chapelle, seen on the left of the following photo. It was being renovated, as evidenced by the plastic cover on one of its sides. The building in the middle is the Civil Court, or Grand Instance Court.
