Star magnolia, or Magnolia Stellata, is the first magnolia to bloom, with white flowers that look strikingly disheveled. I took the following photos on a weekend trip to Canada where the trees are still bare and nothing else was blooming.

Yes it is. Being near the mountains we have wonderful views but often colder temps.

It’s the same for me with the glorious phalaenopsis: in spite of that ASTOUNDING range of colours and patterns, I always come back to the white ones. 🙂

Beautiful. I’ve always had the impression of magnolia as full blossomed and thick petalled so this is an interesting variation.

It does indeed stand out from the others, being the first to bloom, with a color that catches your eyes from afar, as if it wants to announce the arrival of spring.
