Hurricane Arthur, the fist of 2014, spared us yesterday, dumping just a little bit of rain as it passed by way out on the Atlantic Ocean. Still I went to check on our vegetable garden. As I did so, I saw all the various flowers that we mostly ignore while waiting for their fruit to form and ripen as tomatoes, squash, cucumber, or eggplant. Some of them are quite interesting as you can see from the following macro photos.
The grapes no longer have any flower, but they have some promising fruit.

Gorgeous, Hien ! I’ve never seen an eggplant flower, and am thrilled to know what it’s like – beautiful … a bit like a passionfruit flower …

Like you M-R, I have always paid scant attention to vegetable flowers, except for this one time.

Are’nt those flowers amazing, preceding the edible fruit that are so enjoyable? Thanks for stopping by.

I know… My husband build a nice vegetable bed, due to the drought and water restriction, we have not grown for the past three years, very sad.

You should move to New Jersey. We have plenty of rain, even too much at times.

NJ is beautiful! I lived there decades ago. I have a friend who lives in Lancaster has the same nice problem. Her small garden can feed her neighbors. 🙂
