This past Wednesday, I went to the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, located opposite Philadelphia International Airport, on the other side of Interstate 95. This is a relatively new and small but very friendly refuge, teeming with many birds and animals, as well as with humans who live nearby and come to jog or just to stroll along the well-kept trails.
There, one of the birds I saw for the first time was a young great blue, very skillful at looking for fish,
and catching them:
Lovely photos of the tricolored heron ! I especially like the second one ; great timing and wonderful reflective waters 🙂

Thanks, M-R. The heron was a good distance away. All I saw was some quick movement. I aimed the camera and got the shot just in time before the heron swallowed the fish.
