We yawn, and so do birds and other animals. Here’s a Great Black-Backed Gull that I caught in the act near the Barnegat Lighthouse this past Saturday.
Note that it was standing on only one leg. After the soundless yawn, it laid down, looking bored as it watched humans walking by it.
