For many years our hostas have been regularly decimated by the deer roaming in our backyard. The plants have become smaller despite my efforts at reviving them. This year, I sprayed the plants several times with deer repellent, and so far they have been left alone. They even sent up flowers, and here’s my first picture of one flower.

It’s lovely! Worth taking care of…with deer repellent and all.

It must be a very nourishing plant for deer to go after it so strongly.

They love it so it must taste good to them. It’s not like there aren’t plenty of other plants to eat in the summer.

So interesting, my hosta has never grown past a 6″diameter – haven’t a clue why despite all the tending to it.

Six inches in diameter! That would be a very big hosta for us!

Liquid Fence for deer and rabbit WORKS wonders, Neihtn. You have to use it BEFORE the deer eat your plants and reapply as per directions and after every rain. You can find this at amazon.com or at Home Depot if you have one locally. OR at a flower nursery too!! It’s all natural so it is not bad for the environment. Great shot!!! Don’t let the deer eat it!!! ā¤

Thank you Amy. Liquid Fence, I think that’s what I am using. If not, will get it.

If it really stinks when you first spray it, that’s it. Make sure you spray the plants as well, not just the ground. Some flowers will stain from this, so be careful. Good luck!!! So far this year I am outwitting the deer, the FIRST for me!! LOL
