Two photos with two different cameras of a sunflower field in Newton, NJ a few weeks ago at the height of summer.
In the lower shot, you can see that more than bees were attracted by the sunflowers. There were also a lot of photographers trying to capture that perfect sunflower shot.

I am so used to seeing sunflowers shot towards the face of the bloom. The side view as if they are looking at something we cannot see is very cool and interesting. You have to wonder what they are looking at? Intriguing and very pretty colors too!! I love sunflowers.

Thanks Judy! The sunflowers follow the sun as it goes from East to West. It was around 3 PM, so the plants were pointed toward the Southwest. Most people prefer face shots. But I walked around the field and saw that a side view could make for an interesting shot or two.

And it did!! Never thought about sunflowers following the sun I guess. So they are sunflowers not just for their sunny faces but also for their affinity to it.

Thanks Amy. It’s the same field, from a different angle, and a different camera.
