As feared, frost killed our Magnolia flowers, and all that’s left are their brownish remains that the wind is continually trying to dislodge from their branches. Yesterday, in search of Spring flowers and colors I went to Sayen Park Botanical Garden in Hamilton Square, not far from our house. It covers an area of 30 acres, with all kinds of flowers, including a quarter of a million bulbs! But before getting to the bulbs, my eyes were drawn to the intense yellow color of Marsh Marigolds, a plant that thrives near water.

Gorgeous, Neihtn. We have snow here. Big disappointment! Spring is slow to get here but your flowers cheered me up! Thank you!

I know what you mean, Amy. It’s down to the twenties when I go to work in the morning. We had a few warm days last week, but it’s back to winter mow.

Spring is on hold here in Michigan, so it was nice to see some beautiful flowers.

Too bad that spring is on hold where you are! But when the flowers come, there probably will be many for you to enjoy and take pictures of.

How nice to have that so close to you. What a great find. How come the frost didn’t affect them?

Good question, Katelon! They bloom early compared to many other flowers,, so they must be resistant to cold, like daffodils.
