Tropical storm Hermine is coming toward our area in the next day or two. This morning I went to Barnegat Lighthouse and walked from there to the beach fronting the Atlantic Ocean. Many people were fishing, while parents, children, and even some dogs, were strolling along the beach, trying to enjoy this last weekend before school starts again next week.
It was very windy and going toward the water was harder than usual. The wind was blowing sand and droplets of water on everyone. I tried to protect my camera and lens as much as possible, and hurried to take the following shots before the elements got too destructive.

Storms along the coastline always excite me, although I know the damage they can create can be horrific. Great expansive photos ~ now if taken from the same spot in the middle of the storm, that’d be impressive 🙂

Believe it or not, I did plan on returning to the shore the following days, but the weather kept getting better, and we did not even get one drop of rain!

No flooding, Tiny, at least not in our area. We got lucky this time. 🙂

Hermine did not live up to its forecast. The weather people were deflated, which is fine by me. 🙂

Hoping Hermine offers a little excitement from Mother Nature and no harm to anyone or anything as the storm passes. I enjoyed these seascapes very much and the sense of forboding in the colors of the skies and the swirling deep green seas!! Very pretty and must have been nice to feel the wind while you were taking the photos.

Thanks Judy. It was nice, except for the sprays of sand and water. 🙂

Glad all is ok then!! Sometimes you just have to get out of the way when mother nature is having a tantrum.

Hopefully Hien you’ll not receive the brunt of the storm. These shots are amazing photographs of the angry, but stunning sea as she dances toward the shore.

Mary, the storm stayed out 100 miles from shore, so we escaped the worst of it. The day I was on the beach turned out to be the worst, at least in our area.

There’s nothing more impressive to me than the power of nature, something which you captured very well in these images! Stay safe, I hope that the storm doesn’t completely ruin your weekend.

Thanks Jerry. I should have gone out today instead of yesterday. It is sunny and bright outside, and not too windy. The weatherman predicts it will start affecting us tonight.

Thanks Amy. Hermine has not calmed down but it moved further out East, so we’ll escape the brunt of it.

Take care, Hien. It kept moving along the Gulf Coast of Florida until we stayed on the west side of it and totally missed it. If made a mess of the towns to the east of us, though.

Thanks Lois! The storm seems to be further out to sea, so we may only get some rain out of it, hopefully…
