Yesterday, in late afternoon, Fawns came back to our backyard to graze and eat the still green fruit from our peach tree. They were not the only visitors.
The Red Fox perked up every time I pressed the shutter on my camera.
The Red Fox, with a peach in its mouth, suddenly took off and ran into the woods. My panning skills could be much improved, but you get the idea.

Thank you Eliza! I have mixed emotions about these deer. They eat almost everything, and there are more of them each year.

How adorable and fascinating. The deer in my yard eat the peaches and pears, but so far I haven’t caught the fox in the act. Wonderful photo. Best, Babsje

Thanks Babsje! This was a first or me. That fox has become bolder and we see it almost every day now.

Maybe an urban wilderness, Sue. We don’t have any big animal, although people have claimed they see black bears in neighborhoods like ours.

Terrific photos, Hien, and I am still green with jealousy about the wildlife that visits your backyard!

Thanks Dries. We live in an urban area, but fortunately have a wooded area adjacent to our backyard.

I’m a bit surprised that the doe allowed her fawns to be that close to any member of the canine family, but maybe deer know that a fox is unlikely to take on a deer.
Also, I’m with Tom, we should camp out in your yard since you’re able to shoot such wonderful photos there. đŸ™‚

Deer are too big for foxes. They prefer small animals, peach size. You are welcome to camp out here, you just have to be very patient. Knowing you, you will get some very nice shots.

Ha, ha. They never appear when you wait for them, only when you least expect them, or when you don’t have your camera. đŸ™‚
