There are definitely two Monarch butterflies in our backyard. We have been seeing them fluttering back and forth among the pink milkweed plants, or flying in tandem up and down. As soon as I got home yesterday, they swung by the glass patio door, challenging me to come out and take their pictures.

Thanks Jerry! The afternoon sun was perfect and those two butterflies, like super models, took turn posing for photos.

Looks like you may have a breeding pair. There may be eggs already and instars soon!

Any caterpillars yet? Big surprise, the birds consumed ours. Could not believe it, given their reputation for bad taste.

No caterpillars yet. Two years ago, the birds ate them all after a few days. This year, we shall see.

Thank you Takami! I think they have settled in in the nearby woods after finding a good source of food in the milkweed.
