Two months ago, the Southern Magnolias (Magnolia Grandiflora) in our yard were blooming and I posted a photo of a flower much like the one below.
The flowers have now matured, losing all their curvaceous petals, and have become fruit.
The fruit is still immature, with seeds embedded inside. When ripe it will split apart, revealing seeds that birds love to eat. I will try to photograph a ripe fruit when the time comes.
I love this plant for its shiny green leaves and cinnamon undersides, their flowers and now their fruit!

And the seeds are usually bright red when ripe. You will like them too!

I love them! I think I’ve said that before. 😉 I love the leaves too, their strength and shape and colors. I look forward to the next stage!

The next stage will be at the end of this month, before frost sets in. I will try not to miss the ripe fruit. Which reminds me that I need to check on the paw paw which should be ripening about now. Thanks for commenting.

Doda, I am the gardener here, but I don’t have to do anything. The birds eat all the fruit!

The flower is very beautiful, but you photographed the fruit so well that its beauty rivals that of the flower’s!
