As a side effect of hurricane Philippe, we are being drenched with rain today, and I am staying home. Here are a few shots taken over the past several weeks that did not fit into any previous post.
Cormorants. They were moving fast in the water as evidenced by the wake they created.

I am guessing the following two birds are immature Yellow-crowned Night Herons. October has been warm this year, and these two had not yet migrated South.

The juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron are beautiful. I have not seen any here at the marsh as yet this year, only adults.

Thank you Tiny! It got cooler today and when I went back there, the Night Herons were gone. Maybe they went down to Florida.

Thank you Sue! We got much needed rain, and a lot of small branches ripped apart by the wind, but it did not turn out too bad overall.

Great lighting along with good poses by the birds, it must have taken a good deal of patience to get these images!

The Cormorants were always moving, but the juvenile Herons just stood there doing nothing. The Avocet was slowly waking up, probably due to the noise the Swans and Canada Geese were making. And I had plenty of time to wait for the fog to lift.
