The remnants of the first hurricane of this year, Alberto, is giving us a rainy day. Our peonies are laden with rain drops and most are bent down, except for the red ones that I went out to photograph this morning.

Lovely captures of the splendor of nature! Although Alberto passed us quite far on the Gulf, we got rainy and windy conditions for about ten days – before and after.

Bent over can be beautiful too….a peony is gorgeous no matter what! Even when the petals are dropping! These are wonderful – I love the rain on them.

Very lovely. I was admiring some of these in my neighbour’s garden this afternoon (over the wall). I didn’t realise that they are peonies. They are a great flower.
