Under the rain, I drove to the Schoodic Peninsula which is a separate part of Acadia National Park near Winter Harbor. It does not have as many visitors as Mount Desert Island where Bar Harbor is located, and on a rainy day there were only two cars, mine included, on the road. The Schoodic part of the park was practically closed for the season, and the rain and wind sent me taking pictures of the local life.
Beside tourism, the people living around Acadia National Park depend on the lobster industry as a major source of income. Lobster traps and boats can be seen at almost every harbor.
I love the last photo of the farm entrance, well done, Hien!!

I enjoyed this post with your wonderful photos that show the way of life of coastal Maine very much! Although, your fist image of the coastline itself was excellent, and more like what I’d be looking for there. However, this post has me thinking that I should expand my horizons and not attempt to exclude any hint of human activity of any kind in all of my photos.

Thank you Jerry! I also used to only take photos of birds, flowers, and landscapes without paying much attention to their surroundings. Lately I have begun to pay more attention to the latter, and there always seem to be interesting and human interest subjects.

Iconic Maine scenes, I esp. love the last one – the red barn and burning bush are stunning!

Thanks Eliza! That farm had a long row of burning bushes and maple trees that was visible from a mile away, but the shot I took did not turn out well.

I have always wanted to go to Maine, so I am loving these photos, Hien. Especially the one of the lobster pots.

You should go visit Acadia next fall to help them out! The Chinese have imposed a 25% tariff on US lobsters, and the Maine lobster industry will be affected.
