These are beautiful. I was in Paris recently, after the fire. It was sad, but Notre Dame is still beautiful. It was all barricaded and very crowded with people wanting to see what was being done. I didn’t take any photos because of the barricades and crowds.
I love France (J’aime la France). We did a road trip and saw a lot of places…pictures in process. I practiced my so so French on anyone who was patient :-).
Lovely shots. A great tragedy what happened but no-one died, artefacts were saved and like many other important historical buildings it will be rebuilt/restored.
So sad, that such a beautiful building has so terribly damaged. York Minster was also terribly damaged by fire 30 years ago but they managed to restore it.
At least you got to see it whole. Such a tragedy. But who knows, maybe the world will rally behind France and help to rebuild it. Lots of buildings had to be restored after WWII, so it can be done providing there is funding. We must remain hopeful!

I was shocked to read the story and watch the report on the Notre Dame blaze! It’s good that you could capture it’s brilliance before this happened.

Notre Dame was wide open to the public. I was able to walk through it all without being troubled by security, which was not very visible anyway.

Perhaps York Minster could give the French some ideas about how to restore Notre Dame de Paris.

I am sure they will share their expertise, although I think Notre Dame, may well have been a more severe fire than the one at York.

Tragic to see such beauty destroyed. Your images certainly show us what has been lost, though perhaps it can be restored to its former glory someday.

I am sure it will be rebuilt, perhaps sooner than we think. The latest news about possible instability of the stone walls are a concern though.
