Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden in Pennsylvania about 75 miles (121 km) from our house. We took some friends there on a rainy day last week and saw flowers mainly in its Conservatory rather than in the many gardens extending over 1,077 acres (436 hectares). Here are some of the flowers that were most prominent and colorful.
Oh my these are just divine! 😊👏

Your images of flowers are always so well done that it’s almost like seeing them in person! I see that you’re using the 100-400 mm lens for many of them, I need to up my game with that lens after seeing your images.

Thanks, Jerry! Lately I have been using the 100-400 mm lens almost exclusively. It is proving to be a versatile lens, and sometimes gives better results than my macro lens.

That’s great! I should become a member at Longwood so that I can visit as many times as I can. 🙂

Beautiful images, Hien. That last one looks like a Gesneriad, which has a great deal of species and hybrids.

Hien–are you using a macro lens for these? So pretty!

I used a 100-400 mm lens, which is not a macro lens, but works quite well with flowers.

It works beautifully!

Another plus point is that I can stand a good distance away from the flowers.
