A pair of Eastern Bluebird is now residing in one of the birdhouses I put up around our backyard. Recently I have seen them flying around, but today I finally saw a female come out of a birdhouse. After some waiting, I saw her perched on a nearby crape myrtle branch, preening herself and inspecting her surroundings.

Such pretty, colorful little creatures aren’t they? We have a bluebird box in our yard which was installed by the community association. They’ve nested inside and are often flying about in our yard. I’ve not had nearly the excellent result in my photographs that you have in yours! It looks especially awesome in your header Hien.

Thank you Tina! Since Bluebirds are now taking over one of the birdhouses I hope I will have more and better pictures of them this year.

Beautiful images of a beautiful bird! I admire your patience and persistence in waiting for her to return. I wish that I had a place to put up bird houses and feeders to attract birds to an area where I could photograph them, rather than trying to find them in the wild.

Thank you Jerry! It’s been several years I’ve been trying to photograph Bluebirds. This was one of the rare times when I could get close to them.

The female bird is not as blue as the male, and both have orange and white feathers too.

When we take the time and trouble to put up bird boxes, we not only give the birds a safe haven, but we are rewarded with up-close views and intimacy with our feathered friends and their offspring. Wonderful photos of this handsome female, Hien.
