The Eastern Bluebird couple nesting in our backyard today made a joint appearance for my camera. It has been at least five years since I put up the first birdhouse, and finally this year Bluebirds are using one of them!

This afternoon, I first saw a male among the crape myrtle branches.

Following the above shot, she flew away, perhaps after seeing a worm or insect on the ground. Bluebirds do not eat from the bird feeder filled with sunflower seeds that I put up for other kinds of birds.

I put up four houses. In years past House Wrens and Carolina Chickadees occupied them, although Bluebirds flew by.

I think I remember you talking about that here. Nothing wrong with Chickadees and wrens, but Bluebirds!!! Outstanding! 🙂

With all my distractions with the healthy community long legged waders around here, I don’t often see, thought they must be there, the song birds. Once in a awhile I see a blue jay though. Your images are so colorful both bird and background…and of course that tangle of branches they seem to navigate so gracefully.

Nice captures of the Blue Birds. If you want them to come the the feeders try Mealworms.

Excellent photos of the bluebirds! They’re common here, and I often see and hear them, but it’s seldom that I can get close enough to them to photograph them.

With the sunflower seeds in the bird feeder, the birds often come for multiple shots!

The four birdhouses I put up were free for the taking. House Wrens helped themselves, then Carolina Chickadees, and now Bluebirds.

They are adorable together! The male’s breeding plumage is stunning, such a beauty. Wonderful captures, Hien, fingers crossed you’ll be sharing baby-feeding shots soon!

They are lovely birds. I hear that they love mealworms offered on feeding trays (available at pet stores). It could give you more photo opps. 🙂

I tried mealworms last year. They got eaten by some birds but I did not see them do it. I bought another bag of mealworms and am trying again this year.
