Lovely portraits! I think that’s a Purple finch (such an annoying name!). If you google “House finch vs. Purple finch” there are enough photos and tips on the different sites to make it pretty clear….I think! 🙂
Your House Finch looks very similar to what my resident bird expert calls a Purple Finch (which isn’t at all purple, but red like yours!) It’s all very confusing… but your captures are simply beautiful!
Ahhh… don’t take my word for it. I seem to have a fuzzy memory of a house finch looking much the same. Sometimes it’s hard to tell these little guys apart. 😉
You have such an array of beautiful birds at your place! How lovely to be able to see them .. super images as always 🙂

Thank you! Now that you mention it, that could be a Purple Finch I saw a month ago. Ayaya! 🙂

Beautiful portraits, Hien. I esp. love the background of the House Finch – great shot.

Thank you Eliza! There was good sunlight falling on that House Finch.

Awesome images, Hien! Good for you! I do know how hard it is to capture birds, as you well know. I take my hat off to you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I like the female Northern Cardinal’s coloring, just a little less showy than the male’s (lol)!

I think she’s very pretty, but the male’s red colors can’t fail to attract anyone’s attention.

Wow !!!
What a beautiful series…
As I started experimenting bird photography, I know how hard it is to capture sharp images…
Thank you for sharing 🙂

Thank you Sreejith! I hope you have a good telephoto lens to do it. The birds don’t like it when you come too close to them.

That’s true, I am planning to add a good telephoto one soon 🙂
