Because I need to finish writing my second book, I will stop posting for an indeterminate time as of today.
Here are some recent photos of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds that have been coming to our backyard for the past several years.

Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Hello Hein – Maybe you will see this comment, even though I understand you have stepped away from blogging. I sent you an email – hopefully it won’t end up in your spam folder. It will be from Lynn Wohlers – Bluebrightly. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Thanks Takami! These days I only visit WordPress once in a great while and always find your site very worthwhile, as always. The rest of the time I do research and continue writing my second book, probably for a few more months.

Oh what second book? Second book after Village Teacher??? I would very much look forward to that!! Writing does take concentration and giving your characters time!!
The hummingbirds are great, something I’ve never been around to crash and burn photographically with. I have a feeling they are an acquired skill!! So pretty!!

Thank you Judy! The hummingbirds come to our backyard feeder every year and it is a joy to watch and photograph them.
This second book is about the battle of An Loc in 1972. It will be fiction based on real history and I am finding myself doing a lot of research for it.

Thank you for sharing these two stunning images. We don’t have hummingbirds here, so it’s always a treat to see them.
I hope that work on your book goes smoothly. Please take good care and wish you a lovely summer.
