It has been a wet spring here in New Jersey, and the flowers have responded well to it, displaying more stress-reducing blooms.

I love what you do with Magnolias, Hein. The Butterfly magnolia is new to me – I don’t think I’ve ever seen a yellow one. The raindrops are so fresh-looking – everything is, actually! 🙂

According to Missouri Botanical Garden, the Butterfly magnolia is “a hybrid magnolia resulting from a cross between M. acuminata (seed parent) and M. denudata (pollen parent)”. I have not seen very many of them, one in Canada and one at home, although there must be many more elsewhere. It’s easy to grow and had given us no problem whatsoever.

Thank you Takami! We are staying at home 95% of the time now, except for trips to the grocery stores.

These pears are very small, but the deer like them in the fall.

I planted this Butterfly Magnolia tree 25 years ago. It is no more than 15 ft high, but it is loaded with flowers in the spring.
