For this challenge, I am submitting a photo of New York City’s waterfront as seen a mile away from Liberty State Park in New Jersey. This was taken at sunset, on a cold and cloudy day, a week ago. The Empire State Building, for many years the tallest skyscraper in the city, is slightly to the left of the picture center.
Yesterday, on the shortest day of the year, I went to Liberty State Park in New Jersey across the Hudson river from New York City. My goal was to take photos of the Big Apple as it was lit up at night. The only problem was the near freezing temperature, and my camera battery started complaining after 45 minutes of shooting. I also had to keep taking my gloves off to adjust the camera settings and change lenses.
Here are the photos, starting at sunset, even though the sun was in hiding.
