Nine days ago, the female Bluebird was still building up her nest.
Since then, I have seen both Bluebirds flying in and out of the birdhouse, and landing on the nearby magnolia tree.
Yesterday, he brought her some food, a cricket I think.
She went back into the birdhouse. He flew away. About an hour later, he came back and fed her something white, maybe a larva? It happened too quickly for me to get a shot.

So well captured, Hien. Lovely two biuebirds and looks like they are both enjoying each other’s company. Glad to see you back and still taking photos. Hope you are doing well and take care 🙂

These are lovely photos, and a welcome distraction from the world’s woes. How many birdhouses and feeders do you have on your property?

Thank you! I put up four birdhouses, and they seem to be all in use. A couple of House Finch even made a nest on a lamp at the side of our front door. So we may have five bird nests in all.

That’s very generous of him bringing her a cricket! Handsome isn’t he? 🙂

Male birds are usually more colorful than their female counterparts. Perhaps because they need to be noticed during courtship?

Hien–the comments/replies are still not working on my site. But you asked about the photo I posted today–if the wine shop was still crowded. No. Downtown is a ghost town. All non-essential shops (which comprises most of our downtown) have been closed since April 1. Interesting to see what happens when that ends on April 30. It might go back to looking just like this photo….

Thank you Hien. This is the first time I see a blue bird. The pictures are all beautiful . I am happy to receive your photographs again. You know I love photography too. We haven’t seen you for a long time. If you guys go to Florida, please stop by my house. I have moved from Tampa to Tarpon Springs 3 years ago, about 30 minutes north of Tampa. Hope to see you and Quynh soon. Best regards.

Thank you, and it’s very good to hear from you. It’s been 8 years since we’ve been to Florida. Are you actively into photography? If so, Florida is probably one of the best places for bird and other wildlife photography.
