The rain that we received so far this Spring has produced an abundance of flowers around our house, front and back. The Siberian Irises were first, followed by Peonies and Roses. All of the following shots were taken in early morning yesterday and today.

Those peonies are delightful … such super images Hien

Thanks, Julie! Peonies look superb, until the rain comes and the weight of the water bends the flower stalks down, and sometimes breaks them.

Yes, as long as the flowers last, although the roses keep putting out new flowers until frost arrives.

Hien, not sure about “easy”! 🤔 We love our tiny garden but have never been able to grow & keep roses! I’m a great fan of hardy Geraniums & any flowers that have open blooms that easily welcome pollinators. 🙇♂️

Thank you Lynn! A few days ago, after a heavy rain, most of the peonies were down on the ground. Today I cut them and put flowers and leaves in an improvised compost pile.

I remember photographing peonies at a botanical garden that were bent down to the ground – but they looked beautiful that way. Of course, it all depends on how damaged the flowers get. In the compost they still serve a good purpose. 🙂
