For this challenge, here are three photos of snow geese that I took in March as they flew to their summer grounds in Canada and Alaska.
Among other things, snow geese are distinguishable by their black lips, a dark line around their bills.

The day I first visited you site there were shots of snow geese, Hien. There is a part of my mind that is allied to them and their never-ending movement from one place to another and back again … They are beautiful, and so is your photography.

Farmers have been complaining about these snow geese recently. There are so many of them now that they have started to do damage to crops.

We are starting to see them here where the crops aren’t planted yet. Tell them to head north 🙂

Fascinating captures! So much I want to take photos of flying birds, I found it’s very challenging. Love all the bird shots you captured! The clarity of the last one is incredible.

Amy, you don’t know how many photos I took turned out to be no good. 🙂 Serioursly, BIF (bird in flight) is one of the hardest subject in photography, and some people spend small fortunes acquiring the equipment to do it right. I am not one of those people, so for me it’s still hits and misses, with the hits slowly increasing with time and practice.

Wonderful photos–I love geese and we often have Canadian geese, or “Canadian honkers” as my husband called them, around here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We have those Canada Geese here also, except that they don’t migrate any more. They just stay around all year. The Snow Geese come and go every year, like clockwork.
